The Helena Chapter of MtAEYC is pleased to announce two pre-conference sessions on October 24th.
The National Native Children’s Trauma Center, at the University of Montana, will offer a full-day session on Building Resiliency in Young Children. This session will provide an overview of child traumatic stress, its impact on child development, and building protective factors. You will be introduced to strategies that can be used by classroom teachers and parents to prevent and remediate the effect of child traumatic stress through the ARC Model (Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency).
We will also be offering a Train the Trainer session for Infant-Toddler and Pre-school Course Instructors on Cultural and Linguistic Responsiveness facilitated by Joelfre Grant and Mary Rudolph of Salish Kootenai College. Both sessions will be approved for training hours through the Early Childhood Project and OPI Re-newal Units.
